TERRY ROEMER is Of Counsel to the firm. Terry advises public agencies on employment and labor law issues, including review and revision of personnel policies; advice regarding disciplinary and grievance procedures; employees’ leave rights and workplace privacy rights; handling complaints of harassment, discrimination and retaliation; the interaction between workers’ compensation laws, medical leave laws and disability discrimination laws; and other workplace issues. Terry also represents public clients in employment litigation, arbitration and administrative proceedings. Before joining the firm in 2011, Terry had established an independent law practice specializing in public sector workplace investigations and employment law. Previously, Terry was Senior Labor and Employment Counsel for the Meyers Nave firm for ten years, and before that, Senior Employment Counsel at the Liebert Cassidy firm in San Francisco for five years. Terry first practiced law in New York City after being admitted to the New York state bar in 1984.  She worked as a litigation associate for a large corporate law firm in New York City, Schulte, Roth & Zabel, and later as in-house counsel for The City University of New York specializing in labor and employment law. Terry graduated from Wellesley College in 1977, and earned her law degree from New York University School of Law in 1984. She was admitted to the California state bar in 1990.
